Cyprus, an island located off the coast of Greece and home to over a million residents. This island in the Mediterranean has a little bit of everything, from stunning beaches, trekking routes, great food & wine and amazing sky blue ocean. For those of you who are a little more adventurous, surrounding the island is a large collection of coves and coral reefs ready to be explored.

When visiting the island there is plenty of activities to keep you busy from stunning views from the islands rolling mountains, fragrant forests and glittering coasts, it is perfect for everyone. My favourite feature of the island are its beaches. The sand is warm with the fresh breeze from the sea and the limitless views across the Mediterranean, you get the feeling that you never want to leave. If laying on the beach is a little slow for you then you can try your hand at the plethora of water sports available like windsurfing, sailing and kitesurfing. The sea surrounding the island is also peppered with world-ranking wrecks and diverse marine life to keep you active.

Whether it is the beginning of the day or the end, Cypriot cuisine is a mix of Greek and Middle Eastern cultures, but it is no secret that the ‘Mediterranean diet’ is known to being one of the healthiest, thanks to its local grown fruits and vegetables as well as olive oil, pulses, lean meat and local herbs. This is one of the main reasons chefs love to cook on the island and explore new flavours.

So by now, you are thinking that you should book a getaway, its sounds amazing right?

Why just visit when you could have a home on the island. Over the last several years Cyprus has attracted some of the most talented architects, developers and residents from around the world, whether you are looking for a second home, holiday home or to make the island your new home, there is something about the island that attracts people from around the world.

I have three amazing new developments that I think are worth a look at including those of you who own a yacht.

First, is the rather jaw-dropping Limassol Marina which is currently in the last stages of development. This marina will become the islands exclusive superyacht marina that has berths ranging from six metres to one hundred and ten metres, at fairly reasonable rates. At the time of writing this piece, there are a handful of villas that are on the market from 3 bedrooms some with private pools too. The marina also offers a variety of services for home and yacht owners.

One of the key services to have is the Property Management, as it means that when you are sailing on the yacht and away from your home, the property is being kept clean and the gardens maintained. The second is their Housekeeping service. There is nothing like coming back to a clean home. These two services are a must whether you have are single or have a family. Naturally, the marina does offer other services that are more personal, but they are not totally necessary.

So the waterfront villas, what are they like? One word – Fabulous! Each villa no matter how big or small has views of the marina and the sea beyond. They are spacious with plenty of room for entertaining guests and if you want to escape from the city, there is nothing like being close to the sea. majority of the villas also come with private births up to sixty metres, meaning you can access your yacht whenever you need.

Castle Residences Apartments are available from €2.02 million while Island Villas are available from €3.5 million.

The second is Trilogy Limassol Seafront which was launched last year by Cybarco building three rather striking beachfront towers which will have a mixture of residential and commercial areas. This could be a great choice for those who are looking for a holiday home. The idea of three towers – North, East and West was conceived by WKK Architects. With the combination of residences, offices and leisure facilities, Cybarco aims to provide buyers with a place in which they can ‘live, work and play’, all in one destination.

Each apartment has access to some of the best views across the ocean from morning to night. All of the apartments have a timeless feel, flowing layouts, spacious living areas and carefully selected natural materials and finishes. The Cypriot climate is celebrated with large terraces that extend the living rooms to maximise alfresco space. As a resident, you have three dedicated elevators, security, controlled access and parking facilities are also on hand to provide peace of mind and privacy.

“We have worked hard with our international partners to ensure that Trilogy Limassol Seafront offers customers the complete aspirational living experience. This development is setting a new benchmark along the skyline of Limassol, providing residents with exclusive access to everything they need –all with the backdrop of stunning views overlooking the Mediterranean. With financing secured, construction underway, a unique product and competitive prices, we are confident sales will continue to progress well.” Michalis Hadjipanayiotou, CEO of Cybarco

The third is The Signature Collection by Limassol Del Mar. Each apartment at The Signature Collection will be individually furnished by Gianfranco Ferré Home, offering buyers a rare opportunity to become part of what was already one of the most coveted destinations on the island. New buyers will have the option to purchase two to six bedroom apartments and penthouses featuring beautifully crafted terraces with dual-aspect panoramic views across the Limassol coastline and beyond, with apartments available on different floors. The project, designed by internationally acclaimed architects Benoy, is surrounded by tranquil gardens and ornate pools, creating an idyllic location in a city offering a perfect combination of old town charm and cosmopolitan living.

Located on Cyprus’ south coast, Limassol is the island’s most cosmopolitan city. With a 17km coastline of azure water and blue flag beaches, as well as a wealth of history and culture, it is a hub for both business and leisure. Limassol has been voted one of the world’s most up-and-coming cities and become internationally renowned for its vibrant nightlife and an array of cafes, bars and clubs to cater for all tastes. With a superyacht marina to rival the best in Europe, alongside historical remnants and the nearby Troodos Mountains the city is also home to some the country’s best private schools and designer shopping districts.

This common vision which we share with Limassol Del Mar has led to a special partnership which stays true to the strict design rules that define our ethos. We believe in exceptional quality and understated luxury, while our trademark tones stretch the limits of what you believe is possible. The Signature Collection draws from the cultural knowledge of our past but adapts to the spirit and concept behind the entire project.
